Alex and I have been traveling regularly to Bulgaria, my homeland, since 2004. It was on our 2020 summer itinerary again (there are a few trains yet to be taken), but a tiny invisible virus had other ideas. Bulgaria, where accommodations were relatively inexpensive, food cheap and really good, public transportation abundant and summers hot and dry, became Alex’s second home. We’ve written a few posts related to some more recent travels. The Bulgaria with Alex storyline is intended to include more places we’ve visited there over the years.
