Valencia during the Fallas

Valencia was not in our original itinerary. But after serries of deadly storms devastating parts of the Iberian Peninsula we had to think about alternatives. Alex wanted sun and Valencia had it at that time. Plus, flights to Lisbon (our return flight to home). So there, we ended up in this city. We were in for a surprise as our first day coincided with the opening of the Fallas festival. We checked out one of the daily Gunpowder and Noise events then wandered around, enjoying the old town, the Turia Park and Ciutat de las Artes y Ciences. The rain, which had dogged us for the entire trip, was never absent for long but we made the most of the time we had. Here’s a short video of some highlights.

  1. Hi Rupali, we’ve been home for a month now. Lots to post, but in the spring we have to prepare our gardens for planting. We were chased by the deadly storms in Spain (and Portugal) but usually day or two ahead of them. And how are you?
